Catholic Relief Services-USCCB Ghana, (CRS) an international non-governmental agency specializing in relief and community development.
The incumbent will report to the Head of Programmes.
As part of the core CRS Ghana Strategic Programme Team the successful candidate will coordinate, manage and provide leadership to implement and grow all aspects of the CRS Ghana health portfolio and enhance the capacity of and strengthen relationships with CRS' partners to promote high quality and sustainable programming in Ghana.
- Lead the identification, research and development of new business opportunities in the health sector for CRS Ghana
- Identify and actively represent CRS on key stakeholder working groups and networks in Ghana
- Provide leadership in the development and management of the country programme's Strategic and Annual Programme Plans, its health strategy, and other health project proposals
- Ensure high-quality and innovative programmes utilizing CRS approaches, standards, technical resources
- Provide capacity support and leadership to Partnerships
- Work with other sector managers to ensure state-of-the art health interventions are integrated with other programming sectors
- Promote and model efficient budget management in keeping with CRS and donor procedures and policies
- Cultivate and lead a vibrant and effective Team of health staff at CRS
- Collaborate with the M&E Unit to develop and implement systems and procedures to ensure programme quality and impact
- Prepare relevant reports and agreements and ensure timely submission and appropriate dissemination to relevant stakeholders
- Support CRS' relationships with the Catholic Church and relevant Health actors in addition to other Health stakeholders in Ghana.
Travel: Position will be based in CRS' main office in Accra with frequent travel to Tamale and to other regions of Ghana
Salary: Commensurate with experience
- Master's degree in Public Health or related field
- 3-5 year experience with community level public health experience from NGOs, or other international development assistance organisation
- Proven proposal writing skills
- Strong leadership skills, including strategic thinking, problem solving, effective communication and negotiating skills
- Technical competency and experience in the design and management of health programmes using participatory planning and evaluation and methods
- Experience in budgeting and budget management
- Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, cultural sensitivity, ability to work with people, good judgement and commitment to the Agency's mission
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Internet, etc)
- Willingness to travel in-country and internationally as required by the Agency
- Medical Professional with experience in preventive public health issues pertaining to policy, service delivery and financing
- Knowledge of U.S Government, Global Funds, other major donor compliance regulations; experience with acqusition and management of public/private grants
- Experience with HIV/AIDS programming
- Professional proficiency in French
