Job Description

Overall purpose and responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Director, Advocacy and African Alliances (DAAA), you will support all global advocacy initiatives, leading where relevant; including supporting the Global Advocacy Team (GAT) in setting and reviewing the international advocacy objectives, ensuring thematic groups (education, inclusion and eye health) achieve their work plans and supporting team advocacy plans as necessary.

You will be responsible for ensuring opportunities from the wider global environment are captured and included in advocacy plans; monitoring performance against the overarching themes; leading on specific advocacy initiatives; ensuring documentation and communication of advocacy work and acting as a key resource for organisational information and learning around advocacy.

Location: The post holder could be based in East or West Africa or the United Kingdom.





Qualifications
  • The role has an exigent scope and requires significant development and programme experience in Africa or Asia with focus on social sector advocacy.
  • You will be required to have 3- 5 years experience and a demonstrated record of accomplishment in the development of advocacy and / or policy work at international or regional level
  • Additionally, a considerable experience in administration, documentation, reporting and monitoring is necessary.
  • You must be able to influence high level officials and other INGO leadership.
  • A minimum of a first degree in Health, Social Inclusion, Education, or professional qualification in related field is required but a postgraduate qualification is desirable.
